In 1862 Mr. Barber Moved His Family Into Tiny "Thistle Cottage" On The Property. By 1968 A Larger House Was Required And It Is This House That Is In The Photo. Edmund Barber Died In 1909, His Wife Barbara In 1925, But His Daughters Harriet Graham And Lily Sparrow Continued To Occupy The House At 99 Euclid Up Until The Late 1950s. Then After Being A Rental Property For A Number Of Years, It Became Vacant. The City Acquired The Barber House In 1974, And It Was Declared A Provincial Historical Site In 1987.Between1986 And 1988 $160,000 Was Spent To Restore The Log House.
